I hope this related to the subject, but how do you figure out the dimensions of the box if you know how many cubic feet is should be. For example, I need a sealed box that is .718 cubic feet to 1.63 cubic feet, or 2.064 for a ported box. Thanks.

Width X Hight X Depth = Airspace (if I remember right)

When you do the math, make sure to use inside measurements

check this out... at the moment the amp rack is lower then you see because i took out the spare. the box is only about 3 inches deeper than the sub itself. the box fits between the wheel wells just like the type R's. and... the grill on the sub protects the sub itself.

I started building my new box today and plan on finishing probably tomorow night. I'm not sure yet if I should paint it, or put carpet.

Could someone confirm the equation to find the airspace.
As stated before, if I remember right it's:

Depth X Width X Height = Airspace

I feel like something is missing in there though

Currently, my subs are in a box (the other pic was a pic from HighestOlive's profile). I am going to get them into the corners when I have the cash to get custom boxes made but for now, its in the box. This is actually the same box I had in the rear of my Jeep Wrangler if you can imagine. I had my amp mounted to my back seat. See pic.

edit: amp and cap. wires are now hidden btw

I'm OFF tomorow So I'll have plenty of time to work on my box. I might be able to get you pics for friday (only if dady is nice enough to land me his digi cam ).

Those pics of course won't show a totaly finished box (carpet or paint will be missing.) But it will still give you a really good idea of what it will look like

BTW, that is a feakin huge amp

I'm almost done Coaking is currently drying, so tonight I should be able to trow in my sub and test the box. I'm still debating on how I'll wire the whole thing though.

2/3 of the box is now in the trunk and pounding hard. That part contains the Sub and it's amp.

I went from a huge ported box to a small sealed one and the difference is amazing. I think usually you gain SPL with a ported box, but I'm pretty sure I gained going sealed.

The bass is a lot less sloppy as well. It its clean and hard.
I also took out my rear speakers. I wasn't using them anyway. So the holes kinda port the trunk.

Only part left to finish is the rack that will hold the components' amp.
