New door speakers?

I have a 09 gts, with the rockford sound system, with sub and stock head unit.
If I just replace the door speakers with something better would they be any louder?
Speakers with a higher db rating maybe??

Heebs, why change rockford is a great brand! i would change the head unit something with more output power and maybe put an amp on your door speaker. Just make sure you match the Ohms.
if your hell bent on changing your speakers try cerwin vega, pioneer premier, clarion, boston acoustics, or a level up from what you got, just a better rockford. my stock speakers aren't loud at all! It is a contant complaint with Evo Owners.

Higher db rating will yield slightly louder, but biggest bang for buck is more powerful head unit, second amp.

Not only that, the headunit replacement is a cheaper fix that does overall improvement to all your speakers in clarity and loudness.

Replacing the stock speakers with aftermarket speakers will only be a very marginal improvement and could make the soundstage worse due to not enough clean power to take advantage of them, and the clarity of aftermarket speakers could amplify how bad the stock headunit is.

Replace head unit first and then you can think about aftermarket speakers. No point in taking advantage of better clarity on how bad the headunit sounds.
