Occasionally when I start my 2009 GTS with navi/rockford, there is a loud POP emitted from the front passenger side lower speaker/woofer (on the door panel) and on even rarer times the pop is louder and the audio just cuts out. nothing is displayed as an error. I have to restart the car to get the audio to come back on.

It seems like this problem is more likely to happen after a rain storm.
thinking of taking the door panel off this afternoon.

 

Update

I took off the door panel last weekend and the wire harness appears in good condition. The speaker also looks good with no water in the connection.

Also I noticed that when I roll the windows down the moment the window switch makes electrical connection there is a click sound emitted from the speaker.

I'm wondering if this is the amp of the alternator. any help would be useful

 

sounds like a poor connection or wire to your amp. Volt drop all connections to the amp, from power & ground.
