Question More professional looking installation

Right now I have my amp power cable (it needs to be a larger gauge, but I don't have the time, money, or temperature needed to do an installation) and a power feed for my fog lights installed right now on the plus terminal of my battery. Quite frankly it looks like crap. I have seen some installs that have huge cables coming off the battery that look really nice. I was wondering what options I have to pretty things up near the battery and how to do it. Thanks.

EDIT: Also, what's with the terminal on the positive side of the battery? Is it necessary to have something that complex, or would a simple terminal be better?

Sounds like what u need is a nice battery terminal like this one http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/PHOTMC902K to pretty things up in your battery bay. Anyways, thats the one i got and i have yet to install it because i am having trouble getting a 0guage wire from the driver side to the engine compartment. Why do Mitsu. got to make it soo hard, on my accord it was just finding an unused grommet.

Why are you running 0 gauge? That's a lot of power. With that bettery terminal are you going to put the stock wire into one opening and the amp power cable into the other?

Any ways, I have thought about buying a newer battery terminal, but not to the extent of the one you linked to. I'm also a little nervous about cutting the stock terminal off of the power cable. I guess it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I'm still nervous about it. First thing is first though, I'm going to buy some new 8 gauge (I'm only running a 600 watt amp) power wire and a new fuse holder and install all of that. After that I'll decide what to do with the battery terminal.

Well, i was planning on running two high end amps(i have a PPI PCX-480 for my highs which requires a 4guage input and possibly another PPI for my sub setup that i'll be putting in soon) with that alone i think i will be needing a 0guage. I'm also worried about the fuse thats on the positive terminal. WTF is that...i have never seen a fuse on a stock battery before. Anybody know if its necessary to have it there?

I took a look at the battery yesterday while trying to install my strut tower brace. From the looks of it, the battery was set up to allow some accessory connections to it right from the factory. Right now I have my amp and fog lights connected to that fuse thing.

since stock alternator can only supply 80Amps, i believe 4ga is the largest that would be necessary. if you have an upgraded alternator, i believe 1/0ga can carry about 200Amps.

here's an approximate chart for AWG (i've seen many variations but you can get an idea...)
gauge ampacity
0 245
1 211
2 181
3 158
4 135
5 118
6 101
7 89
8 73
9 64
10 55
11 47
12 41

i'd actually multiply those by about 25% for the real usuable value as those are probably MAXIMUM values.
