dude, you should really try looking into component speakers. theyre a hell of alot better than reg speakers. if you get good ones, all you need is one pair. MB Quart has good ones, as well as Alpine and other names.

im a little fuzzy on component speakers. i have seen a set at best buy and it looked like it was a little amp, a sub, a speaker, and a tweeter but where would all that fit in the car, or is that somethin completely different

well, bestbuy isnt the place to go to get component. buy from a small place. the little amp looking thing is a crossover. it filters out the bad things. the little speaker is the tweeter which is for highs, and the bigger speaker is for mid range. the big speaker will fit in the stock whole granted you get the right measurement for our lancers. the tweet will have to be put somewhere and it has to be custom fit. this is where you can get creative. and also the crossover can go anywhere too, you can even be creative with this too, people like to show it off.

Like archangelite said as long as you go with a 6.5 component set, fitment for the woofer won't be an issue, there are many places for the tweeter, there's a spot on the door panel, the center pillar is good, and the crossover can be seen, but I hid mine underneath the door panels, unless the crossovers look really good there's no need to mount them visually. And another good point is best buy can be a great place to buy stereo equip. if you want something descent but are on a budget, if you want good components, smaller shops, online are the way to go.

That's right. The 04 have a Sun and Sound package, but I've never seen the sub and where they located it.

But for you 03, you can put your subs in a custom enclosure in your trunk or get creative and built some crazy setup using the back deck
