Your hands you have to remove the glove box then you just push from the existing grommet out from the interior. You also have to remove the electrical tape which is covering over the weatherproof gromet inside the engine bay. I would wait till your engine is cold to do this or you're going to get very burned.
welp. i dont know if this is what you're looking for, but when i was installing my amp wiring kit..i found an easy place to route the wires without cutting a hole in the firewall. to the right of the battery, there should be an opening that leads into the area above the wheel-well. when you run the wire through there, it comes out in an open space next to the door hinge, where a little rubber nozzle type thing is for the wires for the power windows/doors is that connect form the door to the car itself. i cut a little X so that i could slip the wire through and then on the inside of the car..i looked for the place where this opening let to and pulled the wire through. form there i routed everything under my door sill. i dont know if this helps any for what you're doing..but goodluck!

edit: the door doesnt even touch the wire..let alone any rubbing going on anywhere..everything is very secure the way i did it
