Help! Rockford Fosgate Amp issue...

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS, came stock with the Rockford Fosgate system installed, brand new!

Now, up until a year ago I began having issues.

The battery will completely drain overnight. We have already narrowed it down to the AMP because since i completely disconnected the amp the car does not die anymore.

I have taken it to the local Mitsubishi dealer (Glendale Mitsu... horrible btw) and they told me they found a ground wire which was draining the battery. (supposedly) THEN they gave me back the car and it died again so I took it back and then they said it was the alternator which is bull because its working fine right now.

I have also bought a brand new battery (per mitsubishi's suggestion) and still nothing.

Does anyone know if I need a brand new amp or if it could be the wiring?

I don't want to take it back to Mitsubishi because they tore up my car the first time and I honestly don't think they know what they're doing.

Anyone know of any places near Los angeles that knows this kind of wiring stuff?
OR DOES ANYONE KNOW OF WHY THIS IS HAPPENING

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

How long did you have the system before the problem started? With the experience I have (enough to install and troubleshoot some), that problem usually lies in the wiring. The remote cable could be connected to the wrong wire, something that is a constant and not controlled by the ignition switch. As far as the ground goes it shouldn't be an issue, but if you wanted to be safe at all times you could run it back up to the negative terminal of your battery. That would eliminate all chances of it being ungrounded, which your amp would detect in the first place

the stock rockford fosgate amps turn on/off thru data (can system) not a 12 volt lead. if you are unplugging the amp and the battery doesn't die then the amp is not turning itself off when the car is off. this could be an amplifier issue OR a radio issue as the data command to turn on and off comes from the radio. best case scenario is that the amp is bad, because it can be replaced fairly cheap.

The amp should be black , and under the drivers seat if you have one,
It has 2 or 3 quick release connections, Its just plug and play, real simple
where to find it a cheap replacement, just search around the forum,
im sure someone who has upgraded to aftermarket amp will have it laying around
If you would have ask 6 motnh ago, i could have given you the amp for free, but it was just junk filling up my garage so i toss it a few month ago.
