Help Want To Mount Subs In Spare Wheel Well
Hey guys I'm tired of having a big box in my trunk. I would like to mount my 2 12s, amp, and a cap in the floor of my trunk. Has anyone done this? Not by a shop but by your self. And does anyone have plans for our car to do this?
i have a custom set up in my evo. i wanted to buy a cusco carbon fiber rear strut bar so i needed the space. i did a custom fiberglass set up for 2 jl audio 12s. the box is lightweight due to this and looks awesome. i will try to post pics once i return home from my trip.

the cost depends on the installer, so i can not really give you an estimate. as for the sound, i like it so far, you have to make sure that you buy quality subs and make an enclosure exactly from the specs. another thing to think about is that you will need a lot of dynamat to make it sound clean and prevent annoying vibrations. i will be adding more dynamat to my trunk soon, as i have the whole spare tire area covered but now need to add some to the bottom of the trunk, which vibrates. i wish i could post pics, because my words dont do it justice, and i didnt spend an outragous amount to make it look good. its simple, yet very appealing.
I think my subs are pretty quality and plan to stick with them for a while 2 12" alpine type r's. 300 watt rms 1000 peak. So i will be using these
But anyways. i was just asking how much did you, yourself pay for the enclosure? that way i have a rough idea..

i did not make the enclosure and do not recommend it to anyone who is not well experienced. my box is 2.5cf sealed with 2 jl 12w3's, which i might change in the future. i used to have a single 12 inch sub sealed in a 1 cf standard wood box. i wanted more bass, but did not want to add a lot of weight. i decided to install 2 12s and after the fiberglass box was made, it weighed pretty much evenly with the 1cf wood box. although i had to raise the floor of the trunk a couple of inches, i think it was worth it as it looks clean and i still have marjority of the trunk my space.

I built a sub enclosure specifically to sit inside my spare tire itself. It's the first enclosure I've ever built and it wasn't hard, even for being a rather complex shape. Just read up a bit on strategies and methods of building a very solid and airtight box whether you're going sealed or not because even a vented box you'll want to be vented very specifically.
Anyway, take a look at my profile to see what I did, but mine's only a single 10" and I mounted the amp (without a cap) under my driver's seat, so the "how" of my setup probably won't help you.
