Yeah, I think I am leaning towards the 10W3v2. I listened to one last night and I was impressed. When I build my enclosure, I will port it. THe audio shop I was at also wants to see ti when I am done. The owner was way excited and had never seen something like this done for a trunk. Let's say I do get that sub, how much is a good price for it?

Well Memphis Sub cost you range 200-500 dollars for each 10-15" sub.. and Amp about 300-800 dollars.. But Best is Memphis Mojo that is SPL sub and amp.. Sub Mojo cost you about 800-1200 and Amp Mojo cost you about 500-1000 dollars but u can find great deals in audio store or EBAY. But I went DBz Drag And Memphis Crown about 13 Champ for SPL in planet. They pretty Best and they make alot diffrent models and watts peaks. They sell Speaker, sub, amp and kits

Oh i forget something... you want make ur memphis beat very well.. you have get big amps, and amps wire kit from memphis 4gw. My friend manager at car audio and install too and He know how to make it running good and with out blow up your sub and amp. also Memphis can do seal box or air flow box.

how do you say that? the subs lack SQ in every aspect. they're made to get loud, and that's about it. put those suckers in a huge ported box and you've got a helluva sub, but if you want a clean sound, look elsewhere.

I have a single 12 inch L7 in my evo with an Alpine V-12 amp going to it and the sound is very clean....it plays and type of music will good balance. Any sub can get loud....its how you tune the head unit/amp. Just because the L7 has the ability to be louder since it can push more air doesn;t mean it has to be used that way. Everyone that listens to my stereo thinks that it one of the cleanest sounding setups they've heard....the ability to blow the trunk lid is still there, but only if you want it. Good quality on the build....won't blow unless you are being retarded, and not excessively heavy. You also don;t need 1000 watts to push it.........that's why I say you can't find a better sub for the price range.

another perk is that it works better with a small enclosure....thus saving space and weight as well. My box is not ported.....subzone .44 cu ft. i believe.

Wow, that is definately a small space. I will probably port my enclosure and will buil it on the right of the trunk all the way to the back of the seat. This will maximize my air volume. How much does the Kicker L7 weigh and cost? These are two very imprtant factors, besides the obvious ones of sound and quality.

Wrong. it's how you design the box.

It's also a well known fact that round is better than other shapes as far as SQ goes. Why do you think you don't see any triangle or square subs in home?

It's the same as oval speakers...round is always better.

Like i said...we're on the SQ topic here...

I (used to) sell memphis. I know the strong points and I sold JL also! There was a point in having JL in the store, it sounded better than anything else. Memphis is awesome for SPL, like I said...but lacks SQ.

Anyone know of a good price to get a JL 10W3v2 for? I'm going into Salt Lake City tomorrow and am going to check out some audio shops there and see how much they sell them for.

buy it at a store, don't get it online...

im from canada, so its different. you can't just convert it because JL come from the states and there's duty and junk.

if you buy online, you dont have warranty. so buy it from a local store.

That's what I've heard. I am trying to get the local audio stores to compete prices now.

Okay, so I went to this other place and talked him down to $139.99 for the 10W3v2. Pretty good deal?
