Question Alarm advice

Hey guys, I just have a quick question... has anyone installed their own alarm system for their Lancer? Was it easy to do? I've seen the wiring diagram here in the forum and I'm thinking about installing either a Viper, Crimestopper, or Hornet alarm with remote start and trunk pop. I have the ES model and for those out there that installed their alarm...was it simple enough to do? Is it like just installing a stereo, neon kits...that kinda easy? Any problems? Do I need to purchase any extra wires, relays, bypasses before I start this godly endeavor? Please let me know...I'm set to do this installation, but i'm not 100% confident. I've done other electrical to cars, but i've never installed an alarm or remote start..let me know if its easy enough and the time it takes! Thanks!!

Alarm system install is the hardest electronic install job of the entire car there are so many wires so many sensors and just so much stuff to worry about I highly recomend getting it done I have an electronics degree and I still wouldn't try to put my own alarm system in.

the other thing to keep in mind is no matter what security system you put in your car its still not theft proof and never will be Insurance is the only really good security system.

Let the pros do it man. If you don't know how to do it, don't do it. The pros take like 2-3 hours just to install alarms and if you probably did it, it might take you twice as long and might mess something up.

Ha! Sure. The tach wire, the door pins, and the sensors are ALL fused...

First off, an alarm's brain is VERY sensitive. they're EXTREMELY easy to blow. If you blow it, chances are you WONT get warranty (most companies won't).

Come on...just get it professionally done.

heres why i didn't do it, 1 all the damn connectiors..... if some1 hits a window... alarm, if a window shatters, alarm.... if the door is unlocked with alarm engaged, alarm, if some pulls handel with doors locked, alarm... if trunk or hood hit, alarm, if car is bumped, alarm.... and then there was auto start..... there was also free alarm tuning for aslong as i owned the car too... i have a $300 alarm, got it for like 125, paid 130 for install. 255. still beats bustbuys 400.00 price (same alarm, with a lesser install then i got...)

Sounds good guys...I think I would go ahead and try to put the alarm in, but since my semester is about to start again, I'll just get it professionally installed. If it was the beginning of the summer, then I'd do it myself so if i F it up, I have time to replace wut i need. Damn I wish i knew how to install these things. Everything else is easy except for alarms... grrr
