it only took me 30 minutes to install the pulley. my guess is that they would charge you for 1 hr. or they may try to cheat you and keep your car for the entire day and charge you for several hours like Alchemist said.

as for the grounding kits, i have heard and read that they will yield HP gains, but never heard what cars they were tested on and with what mods. in all honesty, i wouldn't suggest getting one.

 

grounding kits don't really add HP but they help stabilize the electrical system (so when the stereo's on the lights don't dim- that kind of thing). The window motors have a big pull and will still dim the lights for a second with the stereo on.

If you want to upgrade a bar get the rear sway bar- that's actually an effective suspension mod.

 

I'm telling you, call RRM right now and order the GReddy Muffler for $79. you wont be disappointed and is better than the ones you looked at. And cheaper.

please trust me on the muffler and dont worry about the entire intake kit, the adaptor with a filter will match performance of the full kit and have better torque cause the tube is shorter, thats why some manual cars use the short ram. and i got the strut bar kit and it feels great. Sway bar also is good from RRM

 

ok i will buy the filter and adaptor. but i have no idea on how to fit them.

I will have to wait till my next paycheck, if they have any of those mufflers left i will get one then.
I will also save up for the strut bar kit. does it come with the rear sway bar?

And the pully i will save up and buy also

I just re-read this and realized something. I have no idea what a throttle body or intake modifold is.
Could someone explain, or give me a link.


Oh yeh and on the whole intake thing, what about the "Road Race Short Ram Induction Kit" Is that worth getting?

Also can someone let me know about tightening the throttle cable and also that spark plug thing.

It may seem simple to you guys, but im a total noob at this. lol sorry

no that kit doesn't come with the sway bar. you will have to buy that from RRM.

throttle body- it is connected to the intake manifold and air intake.


intake manifold-is connected to the head and throttle body.

 

how much would it cost sum1 to fit those if i bought em?
im asuming this isnt something i could do myself?

 

ok so heres my shopping list for increased acceleration and handling

1. Air Intake
2. Muffler
3. Pully
4. Strut Bar Package
5. Rear Sway Bar
6. Throttle Body
7. Intake Manifold
8. Piggy Back System

and tighten the throttle cable, and put in new spark plugs.

I have brand new tires on, but are there any other ways to help keep my car to the ground so it doesnt burn out? i mean right now it barely burns out anywayz, but is there anything else i can do so it can accelerate faster without burning out?

 

do you have an auto? If so, then don't worry about burning out. Thats a good starting list and in a good order. Did you find where the throttle body and intake manifold are? Ok you do know where the big black intake box is right? left of your battery. That is what will come out to put in the filter. I would suggest finding someone on here from your area that knows what they are doing and can help you out when you get this stuff and explain what they are doing to what while they install it for you. Thats how I learned most of my stuff. just watching one of my friends do stuff and explain everything he's doing and what each part does.

 

also i wouldn't suggest having a shop put any of this on cuse they are all easy to do and they would prolly charge you more than it's worth

 

yeh i have auto. I have a friend who used to be a mechanic so i can have him help me out.

I will start buying things when i have some spare cash. Until then are there any mods i can do to my engine as it is?

 

Buy the greddy muffler first before they sell out. Motor mounts help keep your tires planted, but you dont need to worry about that now cause you have an auto like me.

^^^it depends if you want a full catback made or just the muffler put on. for just the muffler most places that i know of will charge $40-$50. you can wait later and have the rest of the exhaust finished, but that will probably cost $150-$200.
