Arrow Piggyback Learning

Ok, i searched around on this and couldn't find anything definitive.

i hooked my piggy up on Sunday afternoon, and soldered the connections. My car is running fine, a little lumpy idle, and i got a CEL this morning, not a big deal....

BUT, i haven't felt any power increase yet.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the piggy to learn and then kick in? I emailed Rob, but he hasn't gotten back to me, so i'm just seeing if anyone else with a piggy knows.

it seems the power band has smoothed out a bit, but that could just be in my head. Also my car is shifting pretty hard now.

uh... have you adjusted anything? do you have a map loaded?

i dont mean to sound offensive but just hooking it up isn't supposed to do anything if the maps are zeroed out.

He has an RRM piggyback with the maps already pre-loaded on it.

after idle time, and the break in drive, you should feel power gains immediately. If you are throwing a CEL, I suggest checking the connections and obviously go through the idle and break in process again. I got a CEL after a little while and one of my connections was loose.

when I got a CEL, my idle was pretty rough...... I really think that a connection is just not 100%

Good luck and I'm sure RRM will pull through

EDIT: mine is a V.2 manual, but I beleive the learning process is very similar. Also, the learning process as a whole take a while, but the power is there after the short break in period....

what's the CEL, and how did you connect the vacuum line?

if the thing is installed properly there shouldn't be any issues. i personally had no issues with the v1 on my car.

i hooked the vacumn line by using the supplied connections and "t'ing" between the I/M and the FPR. That is all hooked up ok, i have triple checked it.
I don't know wat the CEL is yet. my car is in the shop right now getting paint work done, i'm gonna take the car to autozone when i get it back.

The only thing that could possibly be wrong is the violet & green wire hook up. Where you have to cut the white/red wire. Here is a rough diagram. If someone who has installed the piggy v1 can tell me which corrosponding number goes with which color?

Green wire=
Violet wire=

10) Cut the WHITE/RED wire on ECU pin 65. (Leave enough wire on both side so that you can reconnect to both sides)

11) Connect the Piggy Back’s GREEN wire to the side of the cut wire that leads away from the ECU.

12) Connect the Piggy Back’s VIOLET wire to the side of the cut wire that leads to the ECU.

Hope that helps...

Away from the ECU is the end going toward the firewall (away from the ecu), To the ECU is the wire going into the ECU's harness.

In your diagram wire 2 is away and wire 1 is to.
