Ok, so i just put the original V1 RRM piggy map on my piggyback. Previously i got a CEL cos my coilpacks where shot and i was having issues.
anyway, i put on the new map, and reset everything.
Car is running fine, except i got a CEL, which i assume is for the coilpacks still. But when i took my car to autozone to have it read, the guys scanner didn't turn on/connect to the ECU.
The guys said i must have a blown fuse
anyone ever have this problem? know which fuse i need to check out? i looked at the ones in the engine bay and they looked good.
Also would there be any other reason the scanner didn't connect to the ECU?

well i installed the piggy 6 months ago, and i've had codes checked about 4 times since then. And yes the wires are soldered.
no i'm not positive it's a fuse, which is why i'm asking.

i'd ask to see the scanner yourself.
buying one is also a great idea... i am everyone's best friend because i have a code reader, haha.
chances are that the guy at the store 1. didn't plug the scanner in all the way, or 2. had your key in the wrong position.
there's also a small chance that the pins have started backing out of the OBD-II connector or that the wiring is loose... the WAPCE had a protege for about a week and it took me forever to figure out that the OBD-II connector was jacked up and that's why i couldn't get an accurate reading. that car ended up going right back to the dealer due to other issues though, heh.

i will take the car to another autozone just to be sure. I just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue, or if anyone knows of a fuse related to that area of the car?
also, anyone know what the front ECU does? i know it controls headlights and stuff, any chance it is connected to any of the ignition setup? Cos when i unplugged it while checking fuses, my CEL went away

thats what i figured. I would assume that if there is something wrong with the connector then there must be something wrong with my car.
and my car is running fine. I will stop at a different autozone on my way home tonight and have them re-check it.

I don't know how the employees of Autozone are in florida, but the ones in Jersey don't know a thing about automobiles. Your lucky if you can understand their broken english in some stores. And don't get me started on Pep boys.

Engine code is P0300
