You need to get used to modding a slow N/A car. You could easily spend a couple thousand dollars in bolt-ons and not see the gains Works got with their reflash...

Easy for you to say. You can probably just drive up there and have them do it. People like me will never probably get it, not because I don't want to but because there is no way i'm mailing the ECU to my only car off somewhere and driving there is out of the question also.

Then, as he said, don't buy it. If something is "not the part for you," then don't post in the thread complaining about it. Move along and find a part you are willing to purchase.

Afraid of the mailman?

If you do a little math a turbo costs approx $60+ per horsey gain. An ECU Flash cost about $30 per horsey. An ECU Flash is a great way to go.

If your ECU gets damage in the mail, what happens? Can you buy another one from the dealership without them voiding your warranty? And will the new ECU work just as well as the old one?

Thats not the problem, no i'm not afraid to send it to them in the mail. I just can't cause its my only car and use it everyday. Maybe when I get another car for the mrs.'s I might be able to but till then i have to suffer Thats all I was saying before.

Uhhh where I live in Canada is about 1600 miles from Works's offices. Mail AND customs will be involved in my flash. We are about the same distance from the works offices however I have international shipping rules to comply with.

What you do is send it priority with a $1300 insurance policy on it, that way if something happens to it you can take the payout and go buy a new ECU from the dealer. Not sure on the warranty but the flashes are generic from what I understand.

So much for the $400 reflash. The price is now $450 on their website. $50 bucks won´t stop me from getting it though. I was thinking it was weird that the reflash for the 2008 would be the same price as for the 02-06 lancers. Being that it´s an older product and I´ve herd this ECU was harder to crack. And actually you can see that the 02-06 reflash was originally worth $450 as well and it dropped to $400.

okay so I have a question,
did Works use a stock car and gained 13 whp or a car which had some bolt-ons?
Also I don't know if I'm right:
When your car has a couple of bolt ons then you can gain more power from the ECU flas with a tune, what if you have some different parts, not those that works may have used, can you actually gain less power than a stock car would gain just because you didn't get a custom tune? (for example the RRM piggyback had some gains with the RRM SRI but lost some power if the car had an Injen CAI)

On the product webpage, u can scroll down and select what octane you want to run. I think I saw 91 and 93. Too lazy to recheck.

Yes, 91 and 93 octane are the choices.

Haha everyone is interested in the lancer that has "193" ponies... Yeah no way of doin that without major mods like internals.

But n e ways... My question is: if we pick 93 octane, how much more will we get out of the flash comparing to the 91 octane; because i know if we put 93 in right now with just little bolt ons we'll get nothing but a "cleaner" engine?
