AEM Fuel Ignition tuning problem...
Hello friends... I've got some problems with the AEM FIC tune up on my Lancer 2.0 (4g94)...
the car have a GT28R turbo kit custom made... well, here is my problem:
1st, 2nd & 3rd Gear the AFR is 11.5:1 from 2000RPM to red line
BUT 4th & 5th gear the AFR goes up from 11.5:1 to 17:1 from 4000RPM to the redline...
the Maf signal is modified, the O2 sensor too (and is in open loop) my fuel pressure is about 60PSI at idle, I have 700CC RC injectors and a Walbro 255 fuel pump...
this thing is driving me crazy, I've tried to rich it up, tuning on 4th gear to 14 or 13:1 but fails on 1st 2nd & 3rd, so rich that the AEM Wideband doesnt read (about 8:1) and the car fail!
If someone have some ideas, to help me please!...
Thanks!!!

I don't think anyone here is running the AEM FIC.
But with those injectors you shouldn't have that problem...
And it's wierd that it only occurs in those gears. Maybe the MAF isn't reading the correct amount of air at high speeds?

indeed, the people of AEM answer me... apparently I have the wrong FIC... I have the cheap one "FIC-6" and the FIC able to work with the Karmin/vortex MAF (mitsubishi ones) is the "FIC-8"... tomorrow I'll check...
the AEM guy told me that FIC-6 works with "hot wire" maf sensors... works between 0-5Volts range... and the FIC-8 works with mitsu maf on Hertz readings...
I'll post here the car project after the tune up...
See you guys! Thanks!

the ecu of this lancer isn't reflashable yet, but we are waiting for the definitions to get rid of this problems...
Did you end up swapping out the FIC6 to the FIC8 so that you could implement the Karmen style MAF? What exactly is going on with the ECU? One of the benefits with this unit is the ability to clamp certain sensors so this does not happen with OEM ECU's
