08+ Lancer GTS 2.0 map starting point?
08+ Lancer GTS 2.0 map starting point?
So I have a 08 EVO GSR and I found plenty of free modified maps that allow the user to tweak them a bit to make it work for their car, like the Gunzo map and a couple others. I uploaded one of these to my car and changed it a bit to make it work like I said, and it made a huge difference obviously.
My brother just got an 08 Lancer GTS 2.0, and I've been looking for a decent free upgraded map to start with for his car but I can't seem to find any. Most of the tunes are on sites that you have to pay for, and they only give the car another 10-15hp. I can't justify paying $450 for another 10hp. I'm not looking for something that will give it 30-40hp because I know that isn't possible, but has anyone been messing with it a little to make it a bit quicker and maybe even better on gas than it already is? Not looking for much here, just a safe starting point. I know there isn't much more power that we can pull out of the 2.0. There are a lot of smart guys on here so I know someone out there has something
Thanks

There are no free maps. The n/a Lancers do not have the same potential as an evo and I would say that 95% of Lancer owners will use their car for what it was meant for, basically a family sedan. Because of this, no one really wants to put the time and effort into the n/a lancers.
The RPW or Works tune is pretty good. Otherwise u can go to a tuner to do a custom one. Also I suggest to only do it once he has a CAI and a full exhaust as then it will yield pretty good results. With all the tuning and aftermarket parts available (not going turbo) and coming (cams etc), u can expect about 150wkw out of the 4B11 without turning it into a race motor, but that also includes a light flyweel, pulley etc. Rather decent power.
