Periphery bits not working

So I tried disabling the p0401 at ECU Periphery2 and set it at 0. After 10 miles or so, it came back again..
Any ideas why it's not working? I've heard some people has successfully done it...

BUMP! My friend told me he had a problem with 1.3U, so he got a hold of 2.0 cable and it worked. What's the difference between the two besides CAN support?

I have a 1.3m and although I havent disabled that particular code I have disabled others since I am running the evo rom (boost solenoid, and another I cant quite recall). I have had no issues with them popping up and its been a couple years now.

I'm auto btw, so idk. I might just clean the EGR valve yet again and switch to 4g94 IM... I'm running out of ideas. I'm also not quite sure if the evo tb has something to do with the code.

So we need a 2.o cable in order to change the values for the EGR? The 1.3 cable wont suffice?
