Common Fuel Pressure
Common Fuel Pressure
Whats the average fuel pressure you guys get with a turbo lancer. I have a walbro 255 pump with 440cc injectors and a aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. The pressure mine reads is 25 to 30 pounds it seems a little low to me just wondering what it should be at?
The car gets tuned at a certain fuel pressure, as long as you maintain that pressure you're fine. standard fuel pressure however is ~50 psi at idle with the vacuum line to the FPR disconnected. With the vac line connected it will drop to 38 psi or so because the vacuum opens up the regulator.
The job of the fuel pressure regulator is to keep the difference in pressure between the intake ports and the fuel rail at a constant for all driving conditions. Whatever that difference is is up to whomever builds it and tunes it. Usually injectors come rated to run at a certain fuel pressure.

Correct. Your pressure is low. Work of advice coming from experience, use your stock fpr if your running 440's, that's what I have ran for 4 years turbo'ed. 440's with walbro, stock fpr and rail running 15+ psi boost. Pressure should be ~38 at idle with vac line, ~47 at idle without vac line
