Hey i need some help as far as what parts i need to get for my lancer as well as a few other questions i have. I Have an 03' Lancer ES that I've had for a year now and fixed it up immensely better than when I first got it used. Cosmetically I'm satisfied where it's at for now, my main focus this year is performance since it's creeping up to 200,000 miles. It's currently at 187,000 and I figured it's time for a new engine (current 4g94 works fine) also its very much under powered. So I have plans to pull a 4g64 block from my local junkyard as well as pull a 2.4L DOHC kia cylinder head since it's cheaper than an evo 8 head yet is very similar. My plan is to also have it boosted sometime by the end of this year or next year. I just wanted to know if there were any additional parts i would need just to complete this swap or do I just bolt the kia head onto the 4g64 block then swap it into my lancer. It's also a 5-speed if that helps, I'm very serious about making my lancer into a kick *** beast

Hey man. I know you're new around the forums but this is definitely in the wrong place to get effective answers. This is engine management. So questions regarding say, air or fuel or tuning, or roms go here. Things like engine parts, bolt ons, engine builds pretty much what goes under the hood would be in the engine tech page.

If you skate over there hopefully you'll see the second sticky from the top where there was a long conversation about the conversion and if you do a little searching if you're serious about the build like you say you'll find more detailed individual builds.

You're getting into something that is going to cost you alot or money and time....are you a mechanics at least? The best way to make your lancer faster is definitely a turbo kit... you can get a fully built engine with a turbo kit for probably less than the swap you want to do...and i doubt the kia head would fit on the evo block also.

This is the eclipse block. Actually really cheap to do the swap. Most guys are doing it for around $1500. Only need to make one motor mount and you can use your own axles if you swap gears to the eclipse tranny. I know the Evo head will bolt to the block, not sure about the Kia head. I was going to swap out for the Evo motor but just the cost of the motor is ridiculous. I plan on doing this swap and boosting it in the next yr or so.

Why not just use the whole Kia/Hyundai engine? It's mostly the same thing...
