Well most people go for short or cold ram intake, high flow cat, axle back or cat back exhaust, headers, and an ecu flash. If money is really no issue you can always get the rrm turbo kit. But I probably wouldnt suggest that since your new to tuning. Also the turbo could tear your transmission apart since you have a cvt... but yea thats a good place to start.

with full bolt on's (intake, headers, pulley, exhaust) you're looking at 150-155 whp. depending on the tune you could eek out an extra 10hp. with those parts and a tune, the cost can be over 1000 usd w/o shipping and assuming you install the parts yourself. 2.4 lancers with cvt trannys shoot in the low 130whp range. so for a 20-25hp gain it'll be over 1k. If that sounds worth while to you then go for it.

As for turbo. the CVT can be turboed but its likely to cause a tranny failure if the tune is not right. 2.4's are also difficult to turbo because of the compression ratio issues that need to be addressed to turbo it safely. so if you depend on you lancer as a DD then i would stick to boltons. A turbo cvt lancer is better suited as a secondary project.

Don't Do It!

Late to the party here, but whatever you do, DO NOT BUY THE RRM CVT TURBO KIT!!!! I have a 2013 Lancer Sportback CVT, and that piece of garbage kit blew my entire drivetrain....Tranny, Motor, Oil Pump, Solenoid, etc. Almost $13K worth of damage, & the car was out of commission for 3 months. It only had 10K miles on it when I stupidly believed RRM when the said it would work. $5K in RRM parts & shipping, 3 months, & $3K in labor later, I had nothing.

RRM has no clue about turbo'ing a CVT. Their entire setup is based on a 2008 4B11 2.0L engine. They even admitted to me that they hadn't made ANY modifications to it, because, as they said...."Mitsubishi told them they had made any changes to their engines....in 7 years. A lot of the parts didn't even fit inside the engine compartment, we had to relocate the battery to the rear, and the directions were a sloppy hand-written scrawl that left out at least 5 critical steps we found out about as we went along. Also, that 5th injector setup is junk. Do some research, RRM has a horrendous record of selling garbage & not supporting it. It took me the better part of the year just to get SOME of my money back from these clowns.

Lastly, that kit only comes with 4lbs of boost, which is all the tranny can allegedly handle, which, after the intercooler pipe & general loss, would give you maybe 1 to 1.5 lbs of boost, which is a waste of time & money. The first conversation I had with these fools was the owner Rob there telling me how to beat the dealer when the tranny blew. Yet I was still stupid enough to go forward. It was a $21,000 mistake....DON'T DO IT!!! You wanna turbo Mits? Find a nice Evo or used Ralliart. I never ever even got to really drive it...it was a total disaster. I was a fool. Pay heed....

ScottRC, what happened as far as repairs? Did you end up replacing everything with stock components?

if money is no object and you want to stay mitsu, i suggest a 2008 evo with a 2.2 AMS motor and a BorgWarner 7670 Kit from Moore automotive. THat will def get you moving at speed.
