ok so today i was drivinbg and i acidentally hit the auto shifter into nuetral...and like a dumbass i put it back in gear while moving at like 65 plus. anyway......i put it in the car jolts and the tranny goes into "safe mode" meaning i only have 3rd gear....unless i manny shift. anyway i get home let it chill start it up and it works fine...problem..i have a CEL...i get it checked and its the OutPut Speed Censor. anyway i was wondering...where theh ell is it located and is it possible for me to change it myself? and if so how much? help me out guys it would be appreciated.

yeah i just realized i didnt let off the gas fully it all happened really wuick and i think i may have had partial throttle.

 

The sensor is probably on the transmission bellhousing. Not sure though. A service manual would help though.

 

im hoping your car is still under warranty? if so I'd take it in .. that sounds bad, but could be something very minor.

did you try resetting the ecu?

 

try the ecu first... is it still in safe mod? id go into the dealer if ur still under warranty, i like that idea.

 

i would be under warranty...if i had the tranny flushed right now im at 58k and never flushed the tranny...but cause i never had any extra cash. i use to have a ****ty job now i have a good job and im cathing up. but anyway....the tranny isnt in safe mode anymore everything is all cool cept the damn CEL. i got it cxhecked and it showed just a outputspeed sensor was bad. and my speed-o is ****ed up anyway. cause i took it apart but now its even worse so im guessing that causing the problem. i just wonder where it is
