okay one last v6 forum
i know that this is a feasible swap, i dont know if that amount of money is a feasible amount of money to do the swap. if you have the money and the time to do the swap, i say do it. let nothing hold you back man.
are there any import engine shops in your area, like here we have a shop that only does crazy engine swaps and things like that. they would more than likely be willing to do this swap for you. however, i dont think that just any shop is going to be willing to do this. but again if you have the time and money go ahead and give it a shot. dont let anything slow you down.

You aren't going to own any Evos with a 3.0L Eclipse engine or a Ralliart motor. The best way to beat an EVO, is with an EVO - or half of one in your case. Get yourself an Evo engine version IV to current. All that other stuff has the wrong orientation or wrong transmission or both.

Why r u so hyped up on the v6? I think v6's are horrible engines, Inline 6's are different, those are some of the best engines ever made...I.E supra, Skyline.
Id go with the 2.4 liter ralliart, bost on that engine would be really really nice. plus everything should bolt up, just gotta find the engine.
I love the sound of a tt six cylander also and though it is feasable ****and im not bashing on ur idea or anything cuz i like the idea**** but to be honest you could just get a nice used tt supra and soup it up. id prolly be alot cheaper. You drop a 3.0 six into that lil lancer itll cost about four grand ur right...but do you know how much a custom twin turbo intercooled system would be for that application in a lancer? You'd need a completely new drivetrain... brakes.... basically everything. Probably more than ur lancer costed just for the custom twin turbo system alone. But hey if you just want that sleeper 1000 hp lancer and pull up to anything and blow it out of the water im all for it, anythings possible. Just try and understand that you are gonna need a large piggybank and plan to not be driving ur lancer alot as you will either be working on it or having it worked on probably more than you drive it. Good luck and let us know what happens!

V6's are not horrible, where did you get that idea? I suppose your car is faster then a 350Z? A Buick Grand National? Hell, I've seen 10 second Pontiac Grand Prixs with the 3800 motor.
A Ralliart motor is fine, but he spends all that money just to go up 40hp, then has to drop another 3G's to turbo it. Why not start with a turbo motor?
I know with the RPW swap to a 6a12 engine, Mitsiman commented once that it fit in REALLY snugly... he made sure it was clear that there would never be room for any forced induction, much less twin turbos. I'd assume with any V6, you're going to run into the same problem, 6a12 or otherwise.

EDIT: By the way, have you considered the handling ramifications of this too? I'm betting you're gonna end up with one hell of an off-balanced car with that much more weight in the front... I bought my Lancer for the handling personally, but if you bought it to drag, then I guess this could still work.

I just dont like v6's Ive read up on them/worked on a few and personally I would rather have a 4 banger than a v6. I4, I6, v8, rotary, just beter in my opinion.
personally I dont like the 350z's engine, I think Nissan could have done beter. Boe's ;ancer took a 350z, and his gf was driving!
Look, I like that he has big idea's, but the evo engine? cmon way to much money. And neil is right, im sure that with any v6 engine he wants to put in there, it is going to take up a large ammount of the engine bay...where is a turbo, let alone a twin turbo going to go? If he goes v6, I think he will have to stay N/A, which would be nice.
Personally I would go with the mivec or a N/A 4g63(which I think should have been in the base lancers in the first place, evolutions turbo 4g63, base lancer n/a 4g63...cmon it makes sense, hehe. damn 4g94's
)

I've seen a few Galants with Evo engines. A used IV or V motor can be had for like $2500.

A hot version today would undoubtedly be better, but again expensive. All the development for that motor went into turboing it. The MIVEC 2.4 does a better job.
sorry for the off-topic...haha
Back on topic, I think u should do a bit more research and talk to a mechanic, one u plan on having to do the swap.

The engine doesn't care whether it is hooked up to a 2wd tranny or AWD. If I were to blow my engine I could look for a GSX or GS-T donor car, it would not matter. Its just an engine. All it wants is a tranny with the proper bellhousing. That's why if you start with a 4GXX equipped car you are pretty much guarnteed the engine will work. The 6GXX cars have a different tranny, so getting a 6G72 into your car would take more work.
The 6G72 will not fit in either the mirage or lancer. Has anyone looked at the size and girth of the 3 liter motor? Look at the 4g94, 4g64, and the 6g72 . . . the latter engine is about 50-60% bigger. Also, the front balance would be out of whack, and understeer would be PITA.
Also, where did you get the info that the 3g guys have done an Evo swap? The last time that I have read is someone cobbling parts to make such an attempt. In the end, he failed after a 2 year process. What it on a RS/GS platform or the GT/GTS?
