Thanks for the advice. I am ditching this idea and thought of something new I have already made a post about it but its still in the research process will keep ya updated as I know more.

 

yeah, basically all the threads that have been made already about how to 'gain more power' in the lancer have ended up the same, "you cant get the amount of power your wanting"

are you looking just to go fast or to just have more fun? if your going the fun route i highly sugest tuning your suspension, this car has a great platform for it and all the stuff is out there to make this care a really good/fun handling machine, ive done some mods for the power, but really havent felt too much gain from it, but everytime i make a suspension mod, im always smiling afterwards, just my two cents

 

I have to agree. I _was_ going the whole "All engine first, then suspension" route. But then I got my new tires. WOW. Honestly, My tires are the best and most fun mod I have done to my OZ. You can look in my signature for my power mods, but none compare to the tires. Btw, tires are the 1st and biggest difference you can make to your car's handling. Struts, cross braces, shocks, springs, etc, are worthless with medicore tires.

I love it when ignorant people like this always bump into the lancer mod threads and just tell us to sell our cars and get evos. Some of us don't have the luxury of going out and just buying a thirty thousand dollar car, much less such a high performance one like an evo. The lancer is extremely reliable car that costs relatively little to keep running good, where as the evo on the flip side can be a handful. Premium gas and about 10-15mpg less than a lancer is big $. You pay what $1000 for tires when you need new ones? Synthetic oil ain't cheap either. Then the clutch goes out at 15000 miles... well theres another $800 on an aftermarket one so that doesnt happen again. Let's not forget our insurance more than doubling what it would be on a lancer. Oh yea, can't forget those speeding tickets that are almost inevitable in an evolution either. Now Evo owners IM NOT BASHING ON YOU GUYS AT ALL, I love the evo with all my heart, but all im trying to make some of the people on this forum understand is that there is alot more to $ spent on a car than the window sticker. If it were, you bet your a$$ id be rolling around in an evo too! The lancer isn't a performance car we all know this on this forum but it's always fun to gain a little power here and there and make it sound nicer so quit telling us to get something else, respect people's decision on their car and give positive feedback or don't post it's as simple as that.

 

Finally someone on here besides me realizes the point I have been trying to make.

Yeah I know im not driving some $30,000 car Im driving around in my $12,000 car after taxes gotta love leftover models with 15 miles on it So if I spend anywhere from 5-10 grand Its wont matter that awful much to me.

 

I was very close to selling my car because of the cars my roommates have (S4, Mazdaspeed Protege, Nissan Spec-V). I got a good deal on the RRM Stage 1 turbo kit and now I'm faster than all but the S4. Once I get my exhaust replaced I may even be faster than him (doubtful unless I go stage 2 though). I'm very happy with my car now and don't plan on selling it any time soon. I'll be doing more mods every so often on the car just for fun (suspension next, then rims). Hands down getting a turbo kit is the fastest and most fulfilling way to get more power out of your Lancer. If you don't have the money for it, start saving and don't buy the NA mods.

You guys are correct but for those who plan on keeping the car for extended periods of time the NA route should last longer. Turbos create wear and tear on the engine, well maintained or not.
