Brands of Intake

does the brand of the cold air intake make that much of a difference? some auto places around here want $300+ to install an AEM brand cold air intake. seems like it would be more money effective to spend $50 on ebay and have a friend help me install it.

The more expensive the product is... the better it is...
Go find the most expensive thing there is and buy it
$400 AEM is better than a $350 AEM
regardless if they are the same product!!!!

^ LMAO, Stop bugging the Noobs.

Hey man,

First off try to run a search as this topic has been discussed more then anything else.

The ebay kits are what you pay for. If you are looking for a SRI then you can either do it yourself (DIY) or buy one of there kits. You are basically paying for an adapter plate for the MAS.

The AEM CAI is pretty much the same as the Injine CAI but the AEM is cheaper. As far as SRI's go the best are the RMR 02-03 Intake or the K&N Typhoon intake. Other then that they are all the same. e

I bought an Injen RD1830 for about $270 and $60 for installation.

Well I didn't have the tools or anything to do it myself. Plus after a friend of mine installed an AEM intake and it soon caused his engine to **** up I didn't want to take any chances.

Did he plug up the MAF? Sometimes, people forget to do this. Heck, I neglected this a few times.
