head off another mitsu?

would a head off another mitsu car (more specifically the 4g93 mivec head) fit on the US lancer? and if so what would be the gains? if not would there be another head out there that would be beneficial?

um i don't think anyone confirmed the fitment of a new head. this has been discussed rather throughly...biggest problem would be with the computer since the ECU is for SOHC not DOHC...do a search.

4G93 has no MIVEC heads as far as I know. Only the 4G92 and the 6A12 engines came with MIVEC.
One is a 1.6l DOHC and the other a 2.0l V6 DOHC. Fitting would be a nightmare.

The second generation MIVEC head would work but you'd need to do everything the H/A guys do and make sure you get belts, the ECU, and the MIVEC oil galleys. Wouldn't be terribly worth it 'til you could up engine compression anyways. A DOHC head off a Lancer EI (some Pacific Rim Lancer) would be satisfactory but still, same goodies needed. Run a search for it and ye shall find.
