Is my tranny dying??

I am just a little curious and was hoping somebody with little more knowledge could help me out. When I am really gettin on it, WOT and Redline, my shift in to second gear almost always grinds. Now I don't do this very often at all, its probably about once a month i notice it but it scares me a little bit. I only have 48000 miles on my car so I am still under warranty and I am wondering if I should take it in. And it is only in 2nd gear that it happens. I only have an intake and exhaust so I know im not working the tranny too hard. So HOBIE or somebody who knows what theyre talkin about please help. Thanks

this seems to be a somewhat common problem, lots of folk have changed tranny oil and gotten rid of the problem most of the time

Do you notice the tranny slipping? ie. RPMs go up but speed does not? Are you pushing the clutch in far enough? and as Tward stated have you changed the tranny lube? should be done around 30,000 miles...

no i dont feel the clutch slipping and I replaced the tranny fluid at 35000 (replaced w/ redline). I pretty sure im pushing the clutch in all the way (never really considered that) ill check tonight. A buddy of mine who is a mechanic said it sounded like sychros or maybe throwout bearings. I know our throwout bearings are pretty bad, so do u think it could be either of those?? If so is that warranty work or will I buyin some parts??

ok so i just finished some research about it and im convinced im not the only one with the problem, but the only answer ive found is change the tranny fluid and if that doesnt work then too bad. The tranny is the one part of the car the i really dont know much about at all, but i do know that grinding is not good, so has nebody been able to resolve this at all???

im guess im goin to go ahead and take it in, but ive seen that a lot of people are just being told that nuthin is wrong. I find that hard to believe that there is nuthin u can do to fix this. Has nebody been able to fix this problem, I dont want the dealership puttin the same crap synchros back in if thats the problem.
