Engine Swap Lancer OZ V-6

I have recently acquired an eclipse 3.0 V-6 that was a total loss and am contemplating the idea of transplanting the engine/trans from the eclipse into my 2002 Lancer OZ. I was wondering if anyone else had tried this. My prelimenary measurements reveal that it should fit but will no less be tight. Any input would be appreciated.

that is hard considering that you have to do a lot of work not just the engine mounts but also getting the engine run and doing also the harnesses for your car but goodluck man

eclipse 3.0 has the sohc 6g72. 6a12/6a13 are in the overseas galants. none in the states that i'm aware of.

other people have measured and had thought it's a way too tight fit. don't forget to measure for engine rocking. good luck and hope we another stateside swap that'll fit.

Unfortunalty that engine won't really fit into the lancer chassis too large

The 6A13 series engine sare a lot smaller hence why they fit in

Any 6g7x motors won't fit. Too small of a motor bay.

Or have no hood... Hot Wheel style. Open engine bays mean more power.

With enough money you can do anything, its a matter of whether its all worth it. You gotta worry about both the engine bay size and the hook ups, harness, tranny etc.. Good luck though, if you pull this off it'll definitely be original.
