Thoughts on Horsepower
LoL besides thats a dumb *** question with a simple answer. Take 1 105HP engine add a 150 shot of Nitrous and for 1 second you have a 250HP car
you just get a non running 0HP car afterwards but hey sacrifices must be made right.

True, but, I think that there is not enough emphasis on reliability with alot of tuning. For instance, I've been to a few street races where guys had done a ton of stuff to their cars, but were having to cross their fingers on whether or not their car would start before the race. I think that if you wanna be like the best, you gotta set reasonable goals, like an even powerband, and such.
Why do you call the lancer a rice rocket? Anyway.. i agree about the whole numbers issue. Numbers dont mean much out on the road anyway. As it was said sheer hp doesnt win you much. Personally I am all about low and mid end hp. I have had a few experiences where i was passing someone and really appreciated the mid range torque the lancer has to offer. Its nice to know when you are crusing at 75 - 80 and running 3k and change rpm and you go to pass someone, the power is right there. As soon as i press the gas the car goes, often with out even downshifting. Before i got my lancer i drove a honda accord and while I loved that car to death ( literally), its peak power and torque were very high in the power band which made passing on the highway tricky sometimes. I often found myself shifting the auto tranny in that car to forcing the power out of it.
It's a rice rocket because... well, it is.
Here's the thing about HP: Alot of people go "I want x number of horsepower" and don't think about how to get that power to the ground. That, and they don't have the skill to handle said 105 hp car versus a 250 hp car in the same chassis. Anyway, I'll shut up, and stop preaching, because my skills aren't perfect.
