Exhaust size

Now, first off I apologize if this has been covered before. In the RMR cat back forum, there was some discussion of 2 1/4" exhaust piping vs. 2 1/2". I was wondering if there was any serious drop off in performance when using the bigger size? To me, it doesn't seem like that big a deal but I would appreciate the help and info.

Oh man. This again.

Ask anyone with a DYNO PROVEN Buschur cat-back exhaust or custom 2.5" and see if they've lost any power. Invariably the answer will be "no". I don't care what anyone says, until I see numbers proving otherwise or my car suddenly slows down, 2.5" is NOT too big even with just basic bolt ons. Is it possible the tq gains aren't AS BIG as a 2.25"? Possibly. Nobody with a 2.25" cat-back has dyno'd theirs though.

EDIT: For the record the eye roll was at the subject, not you specifically, LR03

Thanks, Hobie. I know this subject has probably run it's course but I couldn't tell what the outcome was.
