Thats what I figured... Imma save the money and put it towards new rims or the I/H/E combo... cuz this mod isnt really worth it, unless you have those Denso spark plugs with the upgraded spark plug wires and an upgraded alternator and battery. If you have all those the only bottleneck is the ground wire, so then go for this mod... otherwise dont waste your time with it. Thats my .02

the gold and silver are triple shielded, the other colors are double shielded. i'm installing the dealer accessorie kit of gold Hyperground cables on my evo tomorrow probably, anyone know the torque down rate for the evo valve cover bolt, apparenty the installation guide stresses that you need a torque wrench for this but fails to provide the torque ratings, any info would be greatly appreciated, although i'm probably being paranoid

kinda paid for them when i picked up my car, got the "genuine mitsubishi accessorie" ones, do your self a favor, just go to an online reseller like http://www.phase2motortrend.com/hypcabnew.html or just do a search on google for them and save yourself about $100 frieking dollars. For anyone interested in buying them for you Evo the only advantage from buying from the dealer parts shop is that you get the Evo specific installation guide which I don't believe is out for the after market ones, even though my factory accessorie ones are made by Hyperground, even have the name stamped all over them, god I'm an idiot.... anyway like i was saying if any of you intend on installing them on an evo try and pm me and I'll break out my old crappy *** scanner and send you the Evo manual for them, I wasted $100 frieken dollars on that manual pretty much, I was dumb .... don't be like me I was going to install them yesterday but I had to take my car into Austin to get that 3M paint protection film installed, picking it up from there today and will try and get the cables on tomorrow or thursday.

ok, installed the kit, took a while due to a bolt behind the motor that holds the engine lift mount bracket thing (a bracket to attach the engine lift to when you pull the motor) my hands are pretty small and even with that on my side they're still bleeding, i'm sure i could have found another ground point but i wanted to go exactly by the mitsu intall manual, car idles much more smoothly, power transition between no boost and boost feels nicer, not necessarily smoother or harder, just feels a bit more natural, job seemed simple but just turned out to be one of those nit pick *****y little installs but felt completely worth it as soon as started darwin up and noticed the idle sounding nicer, less hectic, and as soon as i gave him some boost the smile just started stretching from ear to ear.

yeah the 3m is great, it's really nice to be able to blast of those bugs at the car wash and know that you're not damaging the paint, i'll try and get a pick of the finished install of my hypergrounds while the sun is still out
