evo 8 engine drop

ill go on and admit that im new in the tuner world. i have a 02 oz rally and i was wondering if it would be worth it to drop a evo 8 engine rather than buying all the mods to get it up on par with one. my main concern since i dont kno anything about this is the chasis and suspension. i apologize if this was a stupid post or annoying one. this is completely different than my 73 mustang.

no. not even if you could somehow find an VIII engine that wasn't toast. here's why
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...highlight=swap

don't get me started on the near impossibilities of converting to AWD... I'll let the above thread do all the talking about an engine swap (it's an Evo 6.5, but the principle is the same as for the 8/8.5).

oh yeah, this is the best mod you can do to a lancer. its fairly simple, just keep an eye on your blinker fluid pressure, and everything bolts right up. no problems at all

oh yeah, you will have to use magic pixy fuel instead of 91 octane, just to prevent knock and what not, but thats the price you pay for performance

[Generic Response #11] - Engine Swaps
There is currently no documented engine swap into the 2.0 lancer. It is
speculated that the swaps of least hassle would be the 4G69 and 4G64. An
Evo 5+ 4G63 may also swap, but with the help of fabrication and lots of
$$$. Please run a search before further inquiry.

There's another person swapping a civic engine into his. Go buy a b18 engine and put that in. Another very popular swap is an LS2 with a modified shortblock and radiator extension to fit that baby in. It bolts right in. Another swap that only three people have done is an M-35 swap...But man that thing gets going! There's a guy selling on ebay... check it out and good luck man.
