I got the RMR Axleback and RRM Test Pipe. I'm gonna go for the custom mandrel bend catback pipe. I've been quoted $80, installed.

My 0-Z's hella loud now, with the RRM SRI...but it just ain't loud enough. Planning on adding RRM header to complete the kit.

...He said RRM the whole time. The only RMR piece he mentioned was the exhaust. He's talking about Road Race Motorsports, not Rhys Millen Racing.

Good question, I have no idea, I would say its a wash, from what I have read about back pressure and getting rid of a cat. RRM exaust + test pipe is more cost effective than cat back. Guess it comes down to funding and looks.

My personal thought on the whole exaust thing is this. You should have one cat, if you get the test pipe and axel back, you have one cat left, what if you want to upgrade to a header? Then you either have no cats or you take the test pipe off and put the 2nd cat back on. This was my rationale for going catback, leave the second cat alone and get the header to get rid of the first (btw I have the much maligned Kamikaze coming). You can look at it this way though too. Whether you remove the second or the first cat it is still illeagal, and when I was in bootcamp they always said 'if you are wrong stay wrong' As far as looks well in my opinion the greddy looks more 'finished' than RRM but I have never seen a rrm in person only pictures. The tip on the greddy is the thing that I feel sets it apart.

i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a exhaust that's good, because i'm stuck in between 2 right now, i'm leaning towards the rrm axle back and getting custom bent piping or going with the greddy, i'm not sure which will sound better, i'm sure the greddy sounds good but i don't know how the rrm axle back sounds, i know it uses a magnaflow muffler n they are good, so does anyone have any advice.

For the price of the Greddy catback, you can get the RRM axleback and custom piping to make a catback for significantly less. In fact, you can even get a test pipe on top of the axleback and custom pipe and still have some change left over. I'm going the custom route myself.

The Greddy cat back it VERY nice, although dead quiet at idle. I replaced a custom 2.25 catback OBX canister with the Greddy. The custom Exhaust was soooo damn loud I got eyeballed by cops far to ofter and couldn't hear the passenger when they talked to me. I felt decent gains over my custom setup with the greddy...definately impressed!!!

Are you sure 2.25" is the best way to go? Any idea what the Greddy catback uses? I always thought 2.5" was the best, but then again, all my experience is with Civics, so with the new Lancer I'm a noob.
Any gas mileage increases after the changeover?
Thats why hondas have that ****ty sound. But hey man welcome to the lancer.
