What are the most cost effective engine mods?

I'm on it- I don't have a prepackaged kit to work with nor do I have a team of people to answer my questions.... it's all me at this point. I sure that by the end of the week I'll have it not just running (which it is) but making ridiculous power to boot
kick the crap out of everyone else in my autocross class, of course
Beyond that, stuff like top 5 fastest NA, etc is just gravy.
Once I resolve this damned closed loop situation, I'll be making ridiculous power from 2K up.... but from the sound of things, I'm the only one that knows about the problem for sure. Wadad is experiencing similar issues, but doesn't have the technology to diagnose them yet- and I don't know anyone else who does....
ain't pioneering fun?
I don't know why I'm so big on the word ridiculous today.... but I guess it's better than "sick" or "mad" ....

FYI - RippMods makes a supercharger for the Lancer. So that would eliminate the turbo lag problem.
I also agree with everyone abou the breather mods: H/I/X and the suspension mods. These will make a big difference over stock. I owned a piggyback once upon a time (last summer) and sold it because it gave me nothing but problems. I'm looking at eManage now.

ridiculous is better than sick or mad :P
how much power are you looking to get, and what have you done so far??
for the supercharger... that would be cool, i wonder how much it costs and how much of a gain you get

I'm not shooting for a particular number- heresy, I know. But if you look at my registry, you'll see that I haven't just taken a mishmash of crap and thrown it at the engine and said "WORK!!!" I've very meticulously built up the mods (and removed some as they proved to be inferior or worthless). Notice the sig \/\/\/\/\/\/ Ran out of room to list the mods
They're all in the registry

true, but having power when needed is certainly a plus. My club tends to cater toward the sports classes, so we have long sections of flowing turns and not an overabundance of tight slaloms.
FWIW after 2 events, I'm currently first in my class- so I must be doing something right

Whenever I autocross it's an overabundance of tight slaloms and hairpin turns, this absolutely strips the performance aspect of the car away from the purpose of autocross. It'll come down to the driver to make or break their times. Only exception is the carters (the go cart drivers) can beat everyone driving normal cars by like 10-20 seconds.
