What other pistons will fit in the lancer 4g94?

im thinking that if i can find a car that has another 4cyl 2.0 eng, that maybe the pistons (and other guts) for that car will fit in the lancer, for example, the older prelude si 2.0, i beleve some neons have 2.0. any one thnk this is possible or is a mild performance lancer not worth it.

thanks for your serious opinions

just because its a 2.0 doesn't mean it would have the exact same bore and stroke, also i think the way it attaches to the conrod would be diffrent, but you can get aftermarket pistons, rrm makes forged ones and vision imports can get you ones with a few diffrent compression ratios

Ratboy is right... i've searched and tried to cross the part with other Mistu 2.0L's no luck. Different bore and stroke. Also the piston crown and pin sizes are different than others. Unless you buy customs your staying stock for now.

well...you can have Ross Racing make you custom forged pistons..

Flat top = $389.00
Dome top = $424.20
Reverse Dome = $424.20

www.rosspistons.com

Crower can make you forged rods for $711.00. These 2 items are what i'm getting.

I would stay away from dome unless you plan to chance stroke... Probably will hit vlvs... Actually will if dome top is more than .200 past top of stock. Reverse dome would work but then you are lowering compression and you need to figure out where you'll be after that. Stick with flat and be happy. RRM turbo works great on that set up!

i want flat and maybe drop the ratio to 9 to 1, or maybe somewhere in the upper 8's. i think my entire bottom end is shot, i still havent had time to take the engine apart yet, money is tight right now. thanks for the options. and btw i know rrm sells pistons, ive even seen them on ebay going for $450

Well MR Link... it sounds like there is some hostility in your words. RRM is good peeps. Maybe some tech advice from them could have saved you the troubles your in now. Having popped my pistons twice with NOS i've found their settup to be superb. As for the motor end of things i've been there done that and unless your going all the way on bottom end $$$$$ i wouldn't try dropping the compression and upping boost. After all only true reason you would drop compression is to up boost right? But what do i know

on the other hand dropping compression and upping boost sounds awsome to me, go for it i have just decided that i will wait a lil longer and save up for these pistons and rods instead of the rrm ones, i like the lower compression!!
