the safc 2 *i think* can save 2 map settings, has more adjustable points, and has a knock sensor built in that i'm not sure it works well or not.

Well, mine has never read knock once... so either my engine is great, or it doesn't work...

You're welcome.

The knock sensor works, I get readings all the time because my engine is about to **** itself.

Did you calibrate the SAFC knock sensor? It will show 0 knock unless you calibrate it.

. . . Maybe.

I'll have to look into it. We were setting it up kinda quickly, and the SES light was my main concern that day. I'll have to check. I'd feel pretty if that was why...

I have a question guys.

The AFC device I have has the tuning rpm's set at
850
1500
2750
3000
3750
4000
4500
5000
5500
6000

I noticed that when I check through the fuel % settings they are set at 0 until 4500 then go as follows
4500 (-1%)
5000(-3%)
5500(-6%)
6000(-8%)

I haven't changed anything since I don't have a wideband yet but should I set everything to 0 regardless? I'd hate to blow something up at the track if you know what I mean.

Start out at 0's then tune from there. You will probably end up with negatives up top like your map, but maybe not as high as -8. Really depends on mods. You can't blow anything up with that tune, as its adding fuel. You may just be running rich on it.

is that adding fuel (or are those negative numbers)? If that's the case then you certainly won't blow anything up. If it's some kind of "make the number bigger to remove that amount of fuel" then you could run into problems, but I've leaned out even more than that- no problems yet

Why are the numbers in there? did you enter them?

Do you have a way to at least read the narrowband output? They're not great for pinpoint accuracy tuning, but they can give some clues as to how you're doing.

So you are saying what I have is fine or change it to zero's and wait for the wideband to be sure of the A/F ratios?

I'd put it to zero's for now. You can tune when you get the gear for it. The negatives won't hurt your engine, but you dont wanna waste fuel if its not necessary.

overall I'd say it's not hurting anything.

All I did was hook the thing up. I didn't input anything.

I don't have anyway at this time to check anything? I'm looking into a long list of options to get the A/F data I would need to tune. According to the manual the % would be to take away or to add fuel to the ECU's outputs. My afc is taking away fuel from what the ECU is already adding at those points.
