2002-2003 Lancer ES Engine Swap

Hey guys, myself and a friend of mine we're talking about lancers and engine swaps when a very interesting question came up.

I've searched this forum, and a few others and I couldn't come across a strait answer, what I am wondering is if a EVO IV 4G63t Engine and it's AWD transmission would be able to fit a 2002-2003 Lancer ES.

Lets just say that money is no object as of now metaphorically speaking I don't wanna hear the same old "well anything is possible with money" speech though, I need serious answers.

Thanks

Try running a search. This topic has been discussed in detail over and over again by people that actually know what they're talking about.

And yes, anything is possible with money. I'll tell you right now it's not gonna bolt up right, and you'll spend as much on the parts you need as you would for a new Evo.

There's another person swapping a civic engine into his. Go buy a b18 engine and put that in. Another very popular swap is an LS2 with a modified shortblock and radiator extension to fit that baby in. It bolts right in. Another swap that only three people have done is an Mustang GT swap...But man that thing gets going! There's a guy selling on ebay... check it out and good luck man.

Actually just go ahead and get the ebay chip... That will get you rolling with evos from a roll. Then go ahead and get the ebay supercharger if you really wanna smoke em

You'll be runnin 8's with that setup

They completely lowball the supercharger.
With over 500 CFM, this powerful supercharger will create up to 2.1 psi - all at the flick of a switch. And even though powerful, it will not damage your engine with overwhelming pressure - no bent/broken rods, no blow-by, no detonation - it is completely safe for your car's engine. Just flip the cockpit mounted switch at full throttle, and the powerful supercharger capable of running over 8000 rpm will supply your engine with all of the boost it will need. No need for a boost controller, or other expensive gadgetry - everything you need is in the kit. This supercharger's results have been tested with a precision accelerometer - don't be surprised to see your 0-60, 60ft, and quarter mile times decrease - and a double digit horsepower and torque increase.

They lowball majorly on the hp incrase. It actually adds a couple hundred horsepower

dude if you have the money, just go to a respectable/well known tuner shop that does real work like turbos, swaps, etc. Go there with your Lancer, tell the guy what you want. If he laughs at you, tell him "how much will it cost? I'll give you half now, half later" If you want put all the money in a steel briefcase.

case closed.

You must really hate your car, yourself, or your mechanic. Good luck. You're certainly going to need it.

keep in mind.... if you're planning to do this, make sure to post pics, if not, don't even bother starting one. Just like that one member, he just vanished.

That thread IS in fact a dead end, I was looking for information from anybody who has already done this swap COMPLETLY (and mabey a few pictures), the starter of that thread has not produced any valuable information that would yield any concern in me, only brilliant facts like "Yeah, I bought the engine." There are hardly any updates on his situation and and apparently since nobody has done it I can no longer look for information on this topic. Might as well close this thread..

You're not getting flamed. You simply aren't understanding the difficulty of the swap. ESPECIALLY if you plan on putting the AWD tranny in. I don't know if you're trying to imply that you want to swap the entire system or not, but either way is a really overcomplicated way of doing things.

I posted a link to that thread just to show you that he was having a lot of difficulty with his swap, which I think is pretty similar to what you want to do. I guess you'll just have to know guys who can do the swap for you, and I think you'll seriously need a lot of patience, cause just like Hobie said, its going to be very difficult.
