Hobes.... That didn't really take care of either problem: why the ECU is learning around the maps and where's the IAT sensor. But thanks for the reminder about the AEM site, I'll scout around there.

Oh, I see
Thanks I'll double double check those links then (I did read them so your efforts weren't wasted).
Found the IAT sensor and mine is FUBAR'd so it's time for a DSM MAS. It's off to call the junkyard

I did say 2G DSM, didn't I? I meant a 2.4L Galant MAS. But I USED THE SEARCH FUNCTION HERE (little tip for the newbs
) and discovered that I don't really want to fark with leaning and richening right now. The reason I fried the MAS in the first place is I'm trying to get the eManage to work, so if I need it to make this new part work I'd be SOL. Maybe later (because they're cheap enough).
1999 Mirage MAS, here I come!

That musta been some spaghetti.
Man, eboy. I want resolution of this issue for your sake. I'm dyin' to have other people able to effectively tune their cars with the E-manage and/or S-AFC's.

Kris, you're supposed to use the OTHER mushrooms in the sauce
MAS is on its merry way from Montana.... damnit. Oh well, it'll be here Tuesday (because no one uses the Post Office.... can't say as how I blame them though) and then, God willing, my car will no longer have the retarded intake temp issues.
I'm starting fresh with the eM, too. I've been down in the ECU guts enough that I've double checked all the wiring. Next, I'm exporting a Zero map to the eM and installing the new support tool software. Then I'll reset the ECU and start over with the mapping....
That makes two of us who want this goddmaned thing to work

Alright, since it's just the IATS that's fuxored I'm still driving it with no apparent issues, although I didn't have the WBO2 active tonight to get readings. New MAS is still on its way
WARNING!
The switch is a real killer. if you have the switch turned "off" and try to start the car you'll blow a 20A fuse under the hood. Then you can't start the car even with the switch turned on. You have to keep the switch on, turn the car off, wait a few minutes and then swap fuses. Oh, and if a wire should pop loose while the car's running, that'll kill the car too and have the same effect as starting with the switch off.
You are warned.

I'm gonna leave the switch in for now. It's pretty cool IMO
The new MAS showed up last night with half a mirage air-box attached to it. I ended up drilling out the screws (sucks). But the RTV has had 19 hours to cure (RTV between MAS and air filter adapter) so it'll be back on when I get home.
Not entirely sure what I'll do, but electrical taping everything seems to be working so far.
Anyone know how to get ahold of someone who can reflash the ECU to STOP learning?! Has anyone ever contacted Al about something like this?

i'm confused, is this an emanage only issue, or does it pertain to all piggybacks? just wondering because people seem to be doing ok with the safcII, rrm n/a PB and turbo stg2 pb, even ripps black box. of course, we aren't really sure if they eventually learn around it or not, so whats the issue here: our ecu or the EM?
