Anyone running Stage One Cam on NA engine?
Just one thing: DO NOT PUT A CAM IN YOUR CAR THAT YOUR ENGINE ISN'T BUILT ENOUGH TO ACCOMODATE.
I was on the phone with Shawn from Vision Imports earlier and he warned against this as well. It will lead to rough idles at very least and probably rough running across the powerband if you go in over your head. There isn't as single NA engine I've seen on these forums that should be above a Stage 1 grind right now. Not tryin' to knock anyone, just words of warning.

HK is correct.
W/ cam upgrade, you must tune it. Otherwise, loppy idle and crazy surges. Also, get the T-belt marker right.
With stage 2, you must upgrade valve springs. Stock springs will get worn from the higher lifts. Eventually, your valves will float.

Cam works best with cyl head mods and header.
Tuning. Yes, it will probably need some sort of AFC, but it's not necessary 100%. It's for fixing your idle since it will be loppy.
Stage 2 and up will not need an ecu upgrade. You do need an AFC of some sort. It doesn't even have to be from A'pexi. there are others in the market.

Other than lower compression what do you get with a cylinder head mod? I understand the header helping because the lift on the exaust valves is increased with the stage one cam, so you need increased exaust flow. But the head helps with intake? Enlighten me Bahamut.
MIne is a stage 1 grind....I'll eventually hook up an afc, but it's not necessary for stage one. I'm hoping to get it today or tomorrow, just going to set it at dead center...no reason to mess with that crap too.....

Domestic guys usually raise compression since they can bore and stroke their V8's to a massive 7.4L motor. Import guys don't go through this increase compression route.

Just out of curiousity, does that mean a laptop running Windows? Or is there standards-based software that is or can be developed for any platform?
