Anyone running Stage One Cam on NA engine?

Just wanted to know if anybody invested in the RPW stage one cam (or stage 2 ) on NA engine. And if they did, how is it? All the cam posts are kinda old and no one really gave a review of it. It looks like an effective way to gain some substantial power without turbo, but I dont want to jump into it without some endorsements.

What I really mean to ask is are the effects of the cam going to be harnessed by the basic bolt ons CAI, header, catback? Or is it going to be a waste of time/money?

I was curious about this as well. Once summertime rolls around I will have much more free time to tinker with the car, and a cam is high on the list of potential changes (#3 to be exact).

Once it happens I will post the results here.

Price can be gotten from Vision Imports. Haven't called or emailed to confirm though.

Mine should arrive shortly here...I'll post all about it once it's installed....stage 1 cam and cam gear. I think it was $480 with shipping.

RPW's products aren't just made up and shipped out there is serious R&D time put into everything they make. Its the same with every company out there, well maybe not OBX... So it's not a big risk to take to buy RPW's cam, they know what they're doing.

I wasn't really questioning RPW's quality, it is more of a confidence issuse in myself and engine internals.

Anyway I been thinking about this again and I wonder why RRM or RMR doesnt offer a cam. Is it lack of facilities or just overlooked? I dont know anyone at either place, maybe someone else could ask. Competition brings our costs down and adds subtle variety.

I know there is a lot of R&D that goes into making a cam, as opposed to building a header. Cam measurements have to be precise....not that RRM and RMR couldn't do it, but I think they would much rather source something like a cam from a different company like Crane or something.

Well look at it this way, RPW doesn't offer a strut bar but RMR does, and RRM does x2..

Not even in the same league. A camshaft and gear is a highly technical, and very difficult part to manufacture. It is a part that if done incorrectly, can damage your engine in pretty short order.

A strut bar, on the other hand, is a piece of metal of a certain length that can be bolted to your strut towers. If done incorrectly, it won't fit.

Big freakin difference. Like saying that Greddy is better than AEM because Greddy makes turbos, but AEM just has intakes.

I wasn't comparing the 3 companies. Vomitbag was wondering why RRM or RMR didn't make cams, I was simply showing that each comapny makes different products.

And BTW- AEM is better than Greddy because Greddy doesn't have big brake kits.. Sounds stupid doesn't it?

Ok, gotcha. Just from the way that read, it was like, "Well, RPW makes this, but, RRM makes this, and not just this, but two of them."

Very few people on the mirage board have cracked open their motor.

Dudeinamirage has stage 1. Another guy in PR has stage 1. In TB, the guy with Quad runs Cam 3.
