Big FIX! now just a few little fixes (slight miss fire) [UPDATE!]

Hey all, its been a while. Some of you may think i am an idiot, im just learning. Anyway after all that my car has been through (all valves replaced, turboed, de-turboed, wrecked...) its doing quite all right. Some of you may also remember a problem i had posted about a while back with poping and crackling through the intake, well i figured that part out with a little help from the fam. It turned out to be the Crank sensor connector. The harness was loose (the receiving end of the harness with socket), you know how the socket has two copper tabs...that the insertion ..... well inserts to. Well it was all bent outta shape and did not have a good connection. Well car is awesomely drive able now (i was a little scared to drive it since its been about 3 months since its been working correctly), but there is still some slight miss fire around 4.5-5k. If i am idle (in park) and i slam the gas, it chokes at about 5K or just before but if i let off the gas then i am able to get it up to redline. It is also very sluggish response but it does get better around 3k but still horrible. I have removed the turbo, replaced the walbro, and removed the fmu (i was told i could run but i would be running rich w/o fmu). I just check my plugs today and they have a white arc but the bases are black, this is kind of contradictory to what ive heard about white plugs being lean and black being rich. I am also running BKR7E plugs (just a little hotter than normal plugs) but that shouldnt effect it correct? They are also gapped to .04 Now i know something is probably going to have to be replaced but i dont know what just yet, possibly plug wires or maybe even coilpacks. But first i think i will replace plug wires. Any input?

*Note: I am not asking for your criticism, i am asking for your help so please keep it informative.

What plug wires are u using?

If your plugs are a bit grayish, white on the top it means they are simply cleaning themselves. Lean condition would occur if the tips would be so white you would not be able to see the metal part. You should post pics anyway.

How many miles do you have? Coil packs are usually good for at least 100k and the only thing you should replace are the boots that go after the coil pack ($15 each at stealership) and then the wires.

Yes ive checked injector seals, replaced an o-ring and everything is dry as a bone...

Im shooting for coilpacks but i think i will replace wires first, but then again i just read that the boot is only 15$ or so from mitsu....

I have just crossed over 100K. The plugs are extremely white from the base of the arc to the top...

I had a terrible misfire and because of that my plugs were snow white. I have changed one boot (I knew which one was bad) and everything was perfect.
Since you have 100k miles already you might have to replace your coil packs but not necessary. First wires, boots, coil packs.

Get either stock ones or buy the ones I have, 1.8L mirage by NGK $40? Magnacore if you'd like to and have money but they all should be the same.

Ok so this is now the story; on top of other problems i really got screwed on head work. Bunch of idiots forgot to put the bracket securing the throttle body to the bottom of the block back on. It had fallen down and cut into my CV Joint boot (inner) and now greese is everywhere. But here is idea on missfire.......

My uncle checked the connections on my crank shaft sensor wire harness (which he had fixed earlier in the week and fixed my major problems) and there are three prongs, he touched middle to left and middle to right, one gave him a reading 18-20 and the other gave nothing.....is this normal? Anyone have a multimeter (sp?) they can test theirs with to confirm this? It wouldnt take long, the harness is easy to get to.....

no doubt..... well i think it may be the crankshaft sensor mitsu told me 80$; i just dont know if that reading is normal, i wish some one around here had a lancer i could check it on, but no worries. One day again....i will soon be.....T...U..R..B..O*

*Note: This is only after a SHAT load of work that has to be done...
