RRM Piggyback problem....help
I know there are alot of threads right now about the piggy back but I didnt want to jack anyones thread so heres mine.
I just installed the RRM pb on my car about two weeks ago and at first i just used connectors and did a quick parking lot install. Well when I turned the car on it instantly threw a CEL and was Idling Horribly right at like 500 RPM and would dive below that sometimes and stall so I reset the ECU again and let the car Idle for appx 30 minutes and then drove it mildly as perscribed by RRM. Still have the horrible Idle so in consultation with N1te we decided the connections must be bad and I solder the wires properly this time and double check to make sure the wires are connected properly. Reset the ECU and Idle it for 30 minutes and drive it mildly again for 15-20 minutes. The same result I am still throwing a CEL and Idle is trecherous and I cant even think about turning on my A/C at idle the car will die. I do have to say that power on the top end seems to be more readally available but not worth the horrible idle and stalls that I am gettin.
Would someone put their .02 into the and maybe give me some tips on how to fix this I am stumped and am pretty clueless when it comes to engine computers and diagnosing the problem and how to fix it other than the obvious install mistakes that may occur. Thanks Ahead of time, Paul

sounds like something isn't connected properly... could you take a couple good pics of your tapped spots so that i can see how you got it in. If it's installed correctly and still not working properly call RRM and send it back in. They'll get another out to you asap.
Also take a pic of your tapped location for the vacuum as well as where you have the box located as it sits now.
Thanks... we'll get you figured out asap.

can you pull the code and see whats happening? sounds exactly like what happened to me, pulled the code and it gave "random/multiple misfiring" I installed it a bunch of times, changed plugs, etc etc, ended up being a bad box, could be true in your case too
Just get pics to the one's who know what they are looking at and doing. Thus myself, ROCK, or Gabe at RRM. Pulling codes will only tell you what you already know... there's a problem.
If it's wired correctly, which i'll see in the pics, and the vacuum line is good i'll know what to do from there.

In the mean time just hook the white/red wire back together. This will make the car run stock so you don't get all that negative stuff going on. Later rehook it and take the pics. Please ensure i can see the connector/wires clearly in the pics. The more the better.
