My SRI install Bomz

finished up installing my Bomz SRI. I bought the filter and the adapter for about $20.
I tried something new by leaving half of the original air box in (at least i think it is new cuz i haven't seen it yet) . So here are some pics of my SRI and make shift heat shield.

I did that at first and the only problem is the filter being so long it forces the rubber hose off the TB to kind of pinch. And makes idle feel even worse than it normally does with an SRI.

^^thats what happened at first, but i found a way around it. Inside the battery side of the box there is a little housing. if you follow the inside of the snorkel it doesnt go straight to the filter, it kinda takes a sharp right once inside the air box. i basically pryed that part off, and it gave me the clearence to put the cone in without putting the TB hose in a pinch.

Yeah I drilled those little rivets out but I had a huge filter and it still wasn't going to work. I'll use that arrangement again in the winter when heat soak won't be as big of a problem. I also took that out and used aluminum flashing I bought from Home Depot and built a sketchy box for it. Wasn't too bad. Looked pretty cheap though.
