Question Gm Maf/maf-t

I know they work great on DSM's, but is there a possibility that they will work on 4g94?

i believe so. of course, i don't know for sure. i've been eyeing it for years, just because. i don't think there's a REAL need until maybe 400-500 hp. there's a real loose theory that our MAS(605) is good until 150-160hp, 501 MAS for 250-300 hp, and the 399/609 for maybe 500hp. what i mean is that they become restrictive at these hp levels. i've asked around awhile back, but i'm not very serious about it cuz i don't think i'd be supporting the right hp to actually have one.

the thing is that the 605 and 501 were made for NA applications and were probably designed around trying to make torque with their NA engines. the ratings given to them pretty much assumes an NA application and not boosted. the 399/609 are for turbo applications so they basically have no restriction. i honestly don't know which model MAS the 4g93t uses.

the hks vpc is also probably an option, if you can find one. the split-sec unit is probably another.

i'd imagine crank. it's not like they're super restrictive around these borders. probably just starting to.

I was running my Mirage aspirated with the 609 MAS, and it was running lean throughout the RPMs (d-uh). At that time, the mods were CAI, Eclipse TB and 60 mm port matched intake manifold, underdrive pulley, and a couple other assorted mods I cant remember. Lots of "air" mods and not enough fuel. With SAFC, I did manage to hit equilibrium and the car ran extremely well NA (and fast). Boosted, it was even better, as you would imagine.
