I've been using Bosch premium filters since I got my turbo put on and they seem to work pretty well.

What makes an oil filter"better" or "work good"?
Does it trap more dirt?
Does it have less flow resistance?
How do you guys know you filter works well?
Do you have to cut it open after use to inspect it?

From the link posted on the top ProStreet checked the materials the filter was built from. For example Fram oil filter have some kind of a carboard gasket securing the dirty oil from going back. Also the filtering film is made out of different materials like Mobil 1 and Fram are totally different on that case.

i always use ac delco and i have never had a problem even after going 14,000 miles OVER on my oil change (it was a N/A 4.3l with syn. oil) most oil changes were around 7k to 10k and they (ac delco) held on good worked fine

I cut open one of my K&N's for you bastards! You can find the thread if you look hard enough for it. That being said, I like the K&N's. No leaks, good filtration (at least IMO), high burst pressure (not that I'd expect to pop any filter, but insurance is nice), and they have a piece on them that allows you to tighten/remove them with a wrench or socket instead of using an oil filter wrench.
