Lightbulb Speed and Run Catback exhaust

Hey guys I was doing my usual runs through ebay(bein the broke college kid I am) and came across this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/02-MITSUBISHI-LA...QQcmdZViewItem

My initial thought was...bleh.. ..its another cheap ebay part. Then I noticed that they had a link to a main website so i decided to check it out and see if it said anything about the catback on the site and all i found was this

http://speedandrun.com/proddetail.ph...B-02LSR&cat=13

Not much besides a higher price tag. I did a search and found threads about the GReddy, Magnaflow, and some custom applications but never found a result for this one specifically.

I was intending to only invest in the RRM Axleback but then i came across this and I couldn't help but wonder ya know .Just wanted to know if anyone noticed this too and if anyone has had intentions on buying it or if they already had it...thanks!

Your best bet is to do what I and many others have done...get the weld-on Greddy Evo II. Very nice... ( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&postcount=255 ).

That price is not too bad for a catback if it is actually for the base Lancer.

It might be loud but worst came to worst you might be able to install a resonator in the piece nearest the cat.

If you went the custom route and had an exhaust made up I'm sure it would be pretty close in price to this without the resonator. The difference is you would be able to choose specifically which muffler you wanted and what size piping.

I never trust ebay for car parts, the cat back looks decent, but just my initial thought is that youll sound like a honda haha. But if you want try it out and give us a review, you may be helping lancer owners everywhere

I finally got a responce.

Hi Kurt,

If you are referring to the resonator that sits right after the catalytic converter then my answer would be no. If you take a look at the picture we have on our website, the pipe on the very top is usually where the resonator sits...as you can see, our pipe is just a straight through pipe which allows for better air flow but does create more sound. The mufflers on our cat-backs do come with a removable silencer which you can open, close, or remove as you please.

I'm confused, I didn't think that a resonator restricted airflow that much or if any. I don't think I am going to buy it because I think it will be way to loud. It still is a great deal for a catback.
