Post 05 us lancer es - FPR

Definitely have added fuel pressure regulator to my (growing) list. Any thoughts, suggestions on this? Especially locations to purchase a FPR for 05 es? Thanks again!

check EBay.

They have about 3 diffrent models and 5 or mor colors (red, blue. crome, black, gold, gunmetal... just look).

I have one on my car from EBay. Just get a univeral one and be sure it comes with a little plate that has two "L"s cut; this is to replace the stock one. Intall is pretty straight-forward.

Just remember... don't give it too much pressure, it will run like crap and rob HP!

Hope this is helpful...

Can you even run a FPR on a returnless fuel system?

Moved to engine tech.

Maybe contact Dave at RPW (screenname = Mitsiman)? He's pretty knowledgeable about the FPR stuff...

You cannot fit a FPR unit to the vheicles which are returnless systems. Only the earlier models which did run a stock FPR setup. Using a FPR stock type 1 : 1 ratio unit is of no real value - a rising rate FPR unit under vacuem is what you would be after.

We instead setup on our turbo cars a surge tank system with a larger pump to avoid problems with the fuel pump and returnless system on the lancers - this way we used the stock pump to fill up the surge tank, setup a return line system and then fed it back to the petrol tank. Worked a treat.

my FPR seems to do the same, or roughly the same, as a bored fuel rail. At high RPM it helps reduce fuel tax. But that is about it. I DID notice a difference after I installed it. I read some where here that stock injectors are rated at 43.5-44 psi, so that is what is is set to. Had it for about 2-3 months and everything is going smooth.

So will the FPR work on my 2003 US Lancer OZ? What type of performance gains can I expect to see if any? I have been trying to order one through Vision Imports if I could actually get to talk to someone . Vision Imports doesnt have an operator to answer thier phone, just VM and the website is not set up to take orders . So right now I am in an aggravating game of tag .

Try contacting Accolade if you can't speak with visions. They can be contacted on the phone and use the same drop ship method of shipping

So can you tell me if the benefits that RPW talk about on thier website are true in my case? You can see my mod list, will I have any noticable benefits from the FPR.

Visions got a hold of me late yesturday so we are good to go. I didnt see the FPR as an available product on Accolade site which is why I went with Vision

Well my FPR kit is on the way. I hope it is worth it

I am working on some idea's for the non return systems now. One idea is to fit some marginally larger injectors (240 to 275cc units) with a greddy emanage. This will have the effect of increasing the accelerator pump values and feeding more fuel, with the emanage able to recalibrate normal fuel curves back to the equivelent 240cc injector size. Something we will be testing on the Ralliart model in its effectiveness.
