RPW Cam shaft and Cam Gear ARRIVED!!
Ok, I finally got these things and am having them put in on Fri. They look really nice and well done...def. not a thrown together thing. Here's a pic...I'll post a review after Fri. when I get them installed.

IT's stage 1, so no afc REQUIRED, however I'm going to get one down the line here.....Tuning is done at time of install. RPW gives you a sheet with all the tuning specs and stuff.
What's the deal with the core exchange on the cam gear? Do you ship to RPW directly or to Vision Imports? I'm curious how much that'll cost to ship because I have a stage 1 grind and cam gear I'd like to order in the nearish future as well.
Do you have any plans to get your car dyno'd in the near future?

I haven't heard anything about a core on the cam...vision said nothing about it to me and didn't get anything from vision on it either.....cam was $$$ enough for it to just be sold flat out with no core. I'd love to get my ride dyno'd, but the closest one to me is Vishnu and I don't want to be dissapointed with their low number reads.

I was under the impression that only the cam gear was on core exchange.
Oddly enough it's not on their page anymore. Maybe I'm making **** up?
EDIT: Ah, there it is from Vision Imports' page.

So you have just fitted your new camshaft and springs - but you can't dial in the camshaft. With reports of many camshafts being up to 10 degrees retarded this is a must for any high performance motor - especially if you are fitting a new camshaft to get the best out of your motor. Available on exchange only - except for the Mitsubishi Astron Chain Drive motors, these belt driven adjustable Vernier Camshaft Sprockets are strong and durable enough to handle high lift camshafts and strong valve springs. And once done - if in many years time they do falter - they can be repaired without buying a new set. No need to remove the belt - unlike chain drive applications, these can be adjusted on the vehicle with no difficulties.
These RPW are custom made by ourselves and are not weakened by the use of threaded aluminium. They will never strip a thread and are easy to use.

That's great. You're one of the few people w/ cam on their lancer and mirage in the US. Believe me, you will have surging power towards the middle to top end.
get the timing right . . . don't screw it up.

btw, when I spoke to Shaun (sp?) about the cam gear core exchange he said they refund you like $50 beans when it's received. I just forgot to ask where we send it. I guess I'll find out in a week or two cuz I've got questions to ask him and Matt.

Both for $480...I guess actually $430 if I send in my old cam gear.... timing is going to be tuned at a shop...no way in hell am I going to try this mod on my own. RPW says the idle will run slightly rough after the stage 1.....I'm hoping an AFC will correct the slight rough spots .... I'm gonna wait until after install to see how it feels. Damn, I'm getting excited...
