How'd I make the heat shield? I went to home depot and spent $4 on this metal plate that was thick enough to be sturdy, but still bendable. Then I did lots of measurement and bent it on this cement corner thing in my garage so the bends were smooth and even, then used some snips to cut everything out. its not bolted down though. The metal goes down between my battery and the plastic thing it sits in, then folds under the battery, then the intake duct holds it in too.

yeah i was going to do that but the only place i could zip tie it is the holes that attaches it to the front bumper (I lost those push pin things). So the rest of it just wobbled a lot. I really don't believe a shield makes any difference unless it were to completely separate the intake from the engine bay cause heat rises and can just go right over the shield. and it also gets hot as well. But yeah, home depot has a metal sheet (i believe it is zinc something) for $4, and its like 14"x22" or something around that size. for the bending, you just need a nice corner (i used my kitchen counter until my dad got pissed) with enough room to fold the metal all the way down. and to add to the cheapness, on the prototype, i thought I'd only have to cut like 4 inches and thats all, so I didnt want to buy $12 metal cutters just for that so i took the metal to home depot and acted like i was looking around and just cut it there, then i realized i had more to cut so i just bought some.
