That's not always the solution. If you live in the rust belt, the O2 sensor can weld itself onto the cat. I had to use a huge breaker bar to get mine off. Getting the cat off of the downpipe was another story. Took my whole exhaust system to a friends house and it took about 600 ft/lbs of torque to get them loose.

Mine rusted dead on more than once. Use a prybar and/or a longer wrench. It's not rocket surgery.

This is now reminding me of the 101,000 miles of rust that's holding my O2 sensor in. Now I'm scared to try and install the CEL fix.

Just buy an O2 sensor simulator from summit racing for the same amount of money as the CEL fix from RRM and never have to worry about it ever again. The install is simple as hell too, splicing three wires.

Hey man, It is not worth the hastle to try to get that damn stock cat off . I tried EVERYTHING, but nothing worked. Take it to a shop and pay $40 to have them torch it and install the hi-flow cat.

Could be the 02 sensor. They can go bad. Hell, maybe that's why you got a CEL...

I was getting the CEL because I installed Kamakazi Headers, and of coures it removes the pre cat.

Maybe the time you ran without the CEL fix torched your O2 sensor?

I was going to suggest just replacing the O2 sensor, until I saw that they cost almost $300.
