It can't mess up the ECU.. so there isn't any worry there... (as I said in an earlier post... all it does is create a static crude *** version of a piggyback fuel system really).

As far as it working.. it probably adds 0-4 hp. So sure it may not be noticeable... dyno would be the only way to tell.. and that suddenly makes the 5 dollar resistor into a 70 dollar adventure.

No I don't have one installed... only reason I got involved in this thread was that I found actual decent articles and so forth explaining that the resistor worked and why etc...

I've certainly thought about doing it... Just never gotten around to it. Also, I don't have a wiring diagram so I don't know which of the wires it needs to be spliced in on.

I'd assume it has instructions or soemthing with it.. who knows.

Later.

Steve

it goes inline in the MAS a resister whenter it be 10-ohm or 100ohm. the 100ohm will read a constant 20 degree cooler incoming air temp.

The fact that it goes inline on the MAS harness is the easy part. The question is which of the 3 or 4 wires? (I can't remember off hand if we have a 3 wire or 4 wire MAS). Typically it's a 3 wire config, one is a common system ground (which is a ground relative to the ECU, which is somewhat different then just a plain old chassis ground) or a 12V in, and then one is the temp output voltage, and the last wire is the flow/density/air speed/whatever the sensor is for the MAS - voltage signal. Now the big question is which wire is which. As you need to know which one is the TEMP voltage. Putting the resistor on the flow voltage won't do you any good really as far as I know.

Then the final question is what value resistor you need.

So to install it you need to know
1) which wire is the temperature signal
2) what size resistor you need

Then you
1) cut the temp wire, and then attach those ends to either end of the resistor.
2) done.

Ok here it is, If you are looking at the MAS, it is the left two wires, and no you don't have to cut the wires, you just bend the resistor in a U shape and pop it in. I just did it in my car, and I notice a difference, Smooth, a slight fluctuation in the redline, maybe 100rpm or so, and for some reason after I put it in I am able to chirp in second almost every time with those heavy 17 inch rims I have have on it! DO NOT BUY ON EBAY THOUGH, RADIO SHACK SELLS A PACK OF 5 FOR .99

interestingly enough, you just connected both atmospheric pressure sensor grounds. pins 5 and 6 are for the iat with pin 6 being voltage input.

rhyzin... does that combo make sense to you? or is that an illogical pairing. I haven't delved into the wiring and what sensors are connected to what yet to correlate it to the physical end of things were I can understand what it does or doesn't do.

from readings, the ebay connector splices inline the iat output wire. higher the resistance, lower the temp. i can't find any info on the atmospheric pressure sensor. connecting 2 grounds with a resistor doesn't make sense to me.
